LOVE FOR ALL---INCLUDING MOTHER EARTH
In June 2022, I was honored to be named Sustainability Director/Designer at Maggie Sottero, a leading bridal fashion brand. Working with CEO/Creative Director Kelly Midgley, I implemented a strategy focused on three key areas of impact: Waste Reduction, Resource Consumption and Protecting Biodiversity.
On August 1st, we, the entire Maggie family, shared our first sustainability efforts. This is a labor of love across every department, all the way to the very top of the company with CEO Kelly Midgley and founders Wayne and Lesley Webster. This past year of working side by side with my colleagues to build our sustainability program is a career dream come true. I always say we can't sugarcoat the difficult and at times scary climate news, but we must not understate the good news and progress either. When a heritage brand like Maggie Sottero steps up---and not just with a capsule collection or Earth Day offering, but with a whole-of-company effort---that is very good news indeed.
