Saluting a Sustainable Textile Pioneer
Happy International Women's Day!
Today we salute Dawn Pickering of Pickering International. For nearly thirty years, this eco-textile pioneer has been offering the sustainably-milled, G.O.T.S. certified fabrics that are the core of our collections---like the luxurious hemp/organic cotton/wool used to create the Commander Coat and the soy-based jersey Goddess Dress.
And because Dawn believes in empowering women entrepreneurs, she makes it possible for fledgling companies like DeLaunay to purchase these high-quality fabrics in small quantities. With a modest development budget, we simply couldn't afford the high-yardage minimums that many mills require for purchase. We're grateful for her support. Thank you, Dawn!
